Our True to the Plant Process

We believe that the hemp plant’s natural chemistry produces the most therapeutic experience. That’s why the goal when we craft our True to the Plant Hemp Oil is to keep it as close to the plant as possible.

Cultivation

We start by organically growing hemp under the sun in the hilltown of Chesterfield, Massachusetts. The variety of hemp we cultivate is called Lifter. It’s known for its well-balanced effects and is popular among users with pain and inflammation, anxiety and depression, and insomnia.

Harvesting & Drying

Once the plants have fully matured in late-September, we hand-harvest them and dry them in an environmentally controlled facility. We take these extra steps because the harvest and drying stages are critical for preserving the plant’s chemistry and keeping it free of contaminants. Most hemp is mechanically harvested and either sun-dried in the field or in a barn which compromises the medicinal compounds.

Extraction

When our hemp is dried, we remove the flowers from the branches and extract them using CO2. Our method uses lower temperatures and pressures than the industry standard which allows us to preserve a full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids while maintaining a beautiful orange color. Even more importantly, our extract doesn’t need to be refined with toxic solvents because it’s not filled with unwanted contaminants. Refining extracts not only introduces toxic chemicals but also destroys therapeutic compounds in the process.

Formulation

Our extract is ready to be infused into a carrier oil right after extraction. We use golden hemp seed oil as the carrier because it’s the plant’s natural oil and has many health benefits. The 3:1 omega fatty acid ratio is ideal for the human body and is associated with good cardio health and reduced inflammation. Also, since the oil is made from the hearts of the seed, it does not have the typical green color or taste.
